I'm on a mission to educate and help 45–60 yr. old men, navigate the male menopause.
Why are you doing this Chris?
It's simple, I've experience most of those symptoms and knew nothing about it.
I want you to know that you're not alone and I'm here to help you.
The Big Myth
The big myth is that the male menopause doesn't exist!
The male menopause is a convenient label that people use to describe a range of systems that men experience in the late 40's and 50's.
Male menopause is an unhelpful term used in the media and some believe it's due to a drop in testosterone in middle-aged men. This is very different to the hormonal change a woman goes through in the menopause.
There is a condition call late-onset hypogonadism which can be responsible for this drop in hormones, it's rare though.
Reality No 1: It's rarely a physical thing
If you're a man between the age of 45 & 60 you may experience a loss of sex drive, erectile dysfunction and other emotional symptoms.
These are triggered by emotional challenges you're undergoing and you may believe they're physical; they aren't.
Reality No 2: Your symptoms are real
Some of those symptoms include:
· mood swings and irritability
· loss of muscle mass and reduced ability to exercise
· fat redistribution, such as developing a large belly or "man boobs"
· a general lack of enthusiasm or energy
· difficulty sleeping (insomnia) or increased tiredness
· poor concentration and short-term memory
These symptoms can interfere with everyday life and happiness, so it's important to find the underlying cause and work out what can be done to resolve it.
Reality No 3: Symptoms can be fixed
I need you to do something and it's about acceptance. The trigger for some of those challenges can be outside of you - work, your boss, your family. The reality is that symptoms can be fixed only when you accept and believe these challenges are emotional and exist with you.
That way, you're in a great position to do something about it and change them.
Bonus Tip Find the root cause.
Fixing symptoms alone is great and I applaud it. The real secret is to establish the root cause and deal with that - it's much more powerful than dealing with symptoms.
